CENTERVILLE, Mass.—Franciscan University’s cross country runners Bill Jones and Nicole Krajewski receive more recognition for their performances this week as the Eastern College Athletic Conference honors both as runners of the week for the Division III South Region of the conference.
Jones and Krajewski both finished at the top of the list at the Friday, Sept. 30, All-Ohio Championship in Cedarville, Ohio.
Bill Jones, a junior from Green Bay, Wis., was the fastest Division III runner at the championship. Placing behind four Division I runners, he completed the 8K course in fifth place with a time of 25:15.75.
Nicole Krajewski, a sophomore from Battle Creek, Mich., ran a 5K time of 18:51.85 at the same event. She placed 38th out of the 317 runners, with only three Division III runners finishing before her.
Jones and Krajewski both won the ECAC Division III Cross Country Championship in 2010. Jones finished the 8K in 25:55.68 while Krajewski completed the women’s 6K run in 22:21.12.
These two top runners for Franciscan University also earned runner of the week within the University’s conference, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference for their performance at the All-Ohio Championship.
The cross country team heads to Oberlin College on Oct. 15, for the Inter-Regional Rumble.
