First-Ever Lady Baron Swimmer Honored By The AMCC

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio—For the first time ever, a member of the Lady Baron swimming and diving team was honored as the Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference swimmer of the week. The accolade was given to junior Grace Anne Beatovich for her contribution to the team’s success at Saturday’s short course dual meet against Frostburg State and University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.

Beatovich, a Yorktown, Va. native, helped propel her team to its first-ever set of victories at the dual meet to earn the AMCC accolade for the week of Jan. 9. The middle distance swimmer earned a first place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, clocking a time of 2:48.44. Beatovich also contributed winning legs in the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay, notching the swimmer to three, first-place finishes on the day.

Franciscan is ranked third in the AMCC behind Penn State Altoona and Penn State Behrend. The Lady Barons will go up against Altoona at a tri-match on January 21.
