History In The Making: Lady Baron Diver Honored By AMCC
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — The inaugural women’s swimming and diving team at Franciscan University continued to make history this week. Junior Danielle Tremblay was honored by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference as diver of the week for her performance at last Wednesday’s Washington and Jefferson College dual meet.
The Buffalo, N.Y., native won the one meter diving competition at the meet over Washington and Jefferson and Bethany College. Tremblay scored 119.25 points for the Lady Barons, helping lead the team to a dual meet split. Franciscan defeated Bethany 59-43, but fell to Washington and Jefferson, 64-33.
The Lady Barons are now ranked No. 1 in the AMCC with a 3-3 record. Penn State Altoona trails close behind with a 3-5 record.
Franciscan hosts its first ever meet on Saturday, February 4, beginning at 1 p.m.
