STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — After a successful first-ever home tri-meet on Saturday, the Lady Baron swimming and diving team received double accolades this week from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. For a second time this season, GraceAnne Beatovich was honored as swimmer of the week and Danielle Tremblay received diver of the week honors.
Beatovich and Tremblay’s performances over the weekend helped boost the Lady Barons back up to the No. 1 spot in the AMCC and a 4-4 season standing.
Beatovich, a Yorktown, Va. native, placed first in the 100 butterfly (1:07.31), helped win the 200 medley relay with a 2:07.55 contribution, and posted 2:25.00 for first place in the 200 individual medley.
Hailing from Buffalo, N.Y., Tremblay took second in the one meter event (105.95) and was runner-up in the three meter event (127.73).
The Lady Barons split Saturday’s tri-meet, defeating Penn State Altoona 81-25, and falling to Chatham University, 62-49.
The team moves onto the AMCC championship, Feb. 15-18 at Grove City College.
