AMCC Honors Murray as Player of the Week

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio—Completing Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play Tuesday, the Lady Baron tennis walked away from the Mount Aloysius College courts with a 7-2 victory to add to a now  eight-game winning streak. Freshman Alanna Murray earned AMCC player of the week honors for her contribution to the success.

A native of Petone, Ill., Murray earned four more wins during the week of Oct. 3, against Washington and Jefferson College and Mt. Aloysius. Seeded as No. 2 in singles and No. 1 in doubles with Jen Winkle, Murray’s standout season helped propel the Lady Barons to a 7-1 season standing within the AMCC.

The Lady Barons are ranked second in the AMCC below the undefeated Penn State Behrend Lady Lions. They hold a 10-2 overall record for the season.

For Homecoming Weekend this Sunday, Oct. 9, the Lady Barons host La Roche College for a non-conference match. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
