Men Claim Runners-up in AMCC Championship
Erie, PA- The Franciscan University of Steubenville's men's cross country team placed the highest of the season with a runner's-up title, taking second to Penn-State Behrend who hosted the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 31.

Matt Leidel was honored as the AMCC Player of the Week. He has become a fan favorite here at Franciscan University and team leader with 103 total points and 51 total rebounds.

Those student athletes at full and provisional member institutions with a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the end of the fall semester in any conference-sponsored sport are named a member of the Academic All-Conference team.

The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference has named two special awards to the Franciscan University Women's Cross Country Team. Freshman Katherine Manion has been given the title of Newcomer of the Year for 2009 while head coach Dr. Dan Kuebler has earned Coach of the Year for a second consecutive time.
