Sean Donovan serves as the Assistant Athletic Director of Intramurals and Operations at the Franciscan University athletic department. His responsibilities include game day, event and employee management for all NCAA athletics and general Finnegan Fieldhouse operations, as well as overseeing all intramural sports. He is also going into his fifth year as the Baron’s Head Basketball Coach.

Prior to his position as an Assistant AD, Donovan served in the FUS Student Life Department as a residence director (2007-2010).  Before working for the University, his work experience includes teaching high school history and serving as athletic director and basketball coach at Aquinas Academy in Bear, Delaware.  He is a 2003 graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Rhetoric and Communication.

Sean Donovan learned from his ten siblings the importance of sacrifice, teamwork and determination.  Donovan comes from a very athletic family; seven of his sisters play or played college basketball and his older brother was a professional golfer.

Outside of the fieldhouse and off the court, Donovan enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family, and traveling. Originally from Newark, Delaware, he currently resides in Steubenville, Ohio.
