FUS Baseball Defeated in Double Header at Mt. Aloysius

CRESSON, PA- The Franciscan University of Steubenville baseball team lost a double-header to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Mt. Aloysius College in a make-up game on Sunday afternoon. The Barons dropped the first game 15-0 and the second 8-5.

In the first game FUS had a tough time offensively, getting outhit by the Mounties 18-3. Rob Marrow, David Dupuy, and Steve Jagla were the only Barons to get hits in the game. Starting pitcher Nathan Cain went 4 and a half innings giving up 14 hits, 14 earned runs, while walking 4.

In the second game the Barons found their offensive game but were unable to stop the Mounties. Barons’ leftfielder Ryan Marrow went 3-4 with 2 RBIs. Jagla and Rob Marrow each added his own hit. Starting pitcher Kevin Marrow went 6 innings giving up 9 hits and 8 earned runs while walking 6 and striking out 1.

Franciscan (0-14, 0-6) will come home to face another AMCC opponent in Penn State-Behrend at 2:00 p.m. at Vaccaro Field on Wednesday April 8.
