Barons Lose to OU Eastern

By Monica Hogan

STEUBENVILLE, OH- The Franciscan University of Steubenville men's basketball team fell to the Bobcats of Ohio University-Eastern 79-65 on Monday night. The Barons continue their 14 game losing skid, falling to 3-18 (0-14).

The first half started with OUE taking an 8-2 lead. The play of freshman point guard Sam Titus with seven points and two assists in the first half pulled the Barons back into the game. Junior Josh Ducoulombier contributed with 11, but the Bobcats still held onto the lead 35-27.

The lead was too much for FUS and the Bobcats pulled away at the end to take the game 79-65. Ducoulombier and senior Rob Slattery led the Barons with 22 points. Slattery also had 10 rebounds to register his fourth double-double of the season. Titus finished with 11 points and four assists.

Coach Donovan had some thoughts after the game. "Sam Titus was the most outstanding player on the court (for us). He kept us in the game. Rob [Slattery] and Josh [Ducoulombier] led us offensively. I thought OUE executed well. We made a valiant comeback that fell just a little short."

The Barons look to enter the win column on Wednesday against Mt. Aloysius College at the Finnegan Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
