Barons Get First Win of Season

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - The Barons basketball team faced PSU-Berks on Sunday afternoon in the their second game of the Lycoming College Tournament, pulling out an impressive 59-54 win.  With the victory, the Barons got their first win of the season and improved to 1-2 (0-0).

Several Barons posted impressive numbers in the victory.  Matt Liedel led all scorers with 20 points, shooting 10 for 23 on the night.  Pete Burak and Josh Ducoulombier also aided in the scoring with 8 points apiece, while Connor Flanagan had 7 and Mike Feuz and John Moore had 6 points each.  Keiman Flowers had 17 points for PSU-Berks, while Dontale King had 12 and Jeff Schmidt had 10.

"This was a good win for us," Barons coach Sean Donovan remarked post-game.  "We knew that we had to play all-out today.  Matt Liedel led all scorers today, and played extremely well on both ends of the floor, and he was afterwards named on the all-tournament team.  Mike Feuz and John Moore played well for us off the bench, and it was an all-around team effort."

The Barons' next contest is at home against AMCC opponent Penn State-Behrend this Tuesday at 8 p.m.
