Barons Suffer Crushing OT Loss to Geneva College

GENEVA, PA - The Barons of Franciscan University of Steubenville faced Geneva College in their first game of the Geneva College Classic on Friday night.  After leading 1-0 for nearly the entire game, Geneva scored to tie the game, 1-1, and went on to take a 2-1 win in overtime.  With the loss, the Barons fell to 0-2 (0-0) on the season.

Junior Steve Duran was the offensive standout for the Barons on the night, posting 5 shots (2 on goal).  Thomas Allen had 2 shots, including the Barons' sole score of the game.  Joseph Krilich had 2 shots (1 on goal), and Matthew Taylor had an assist.  Goalkeeper Billy Herrmann had 6 saves on 8 shots on goal.

Jake McCracken led Geneva on the night with 4 shots (2 on goal) and an assist.  Josh Mann had 3 shots (2 on goal), and one goal.  Bruce Fox came off the bench for Geneva, and registered 3 shots and the team's second goal of the night.

The Barons will take on Waynesburg University in their second game of the Geneva College Classic on Saturday.
