WASHINGTON, Pa.—With a 7-2 victory against Washington & Jefferson College, Franciscan University of Steubenville's Baron tennis team continues unfettered in its streak of victories over the past seven games of the 2011 season. With only one loss, the Barons hold an overall record of 6-1, and 2-1 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

"We played well today," said head coach Curtis Allen. "We weren't challenged that much, but we played well."

In the singles matches, the Barons nearly shutout the Presidents as No. 1 seed, Leonel Lacayo defeated Jon Piccinini 6-0, 6-0; Paul Jarzynka won 6-0, 6-0; Brian Robau earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory; Luke Merry beat out his opponent 6-1, 6-1; and finally Patrick Wilmot won 6-2, 6-0.

"We are continuing to get better," noted coach Allen. "It definitely is showing from match to match."
