Shaun McKeegan became the assistant cross country/track coach/ in 2008. He is a 1995 alumnus of Franciscan University with a bachelor’s degree in theology.
An avid runner from an early age, Shaun grew up attending road races with his father, and ran cross country for four years in high school. As a student at Franciscan, he played on the men's soccer team and coached the women's club soccer team.
After graduating from college, Shaun competed in several marathons and triathlons. In 2003, he was a member of an elite run team in the US Army.
For the 2004 and 2005 seasons, Shaun coached a local high school boys' soccer team. In 2006, he placed first for his age group in Hocking Hills 40K and recently in 2011 3rd overall in the Robert Urich Memorial five mile run.
Shaun and his wife Maura live in Steubenville, Ohio with their three young children, Grace, Finn and Declan.
