Inter Regional Rumble too Much for the Men's Cross Country Team

Oberlin, OH-The men's cross country teams from Franciscan University of Steubenville competed against some of the fastest NCAA Division III schools in the U.S. at the Inter Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College. Explaining why the Barons came in 28th of 28 teams.

The men's team, Senior Kevin Codd broke his personal record by running the muddy 8k race in 27:32 minutes. Codd placed scored 132 points and was followed by freshman Jack Kaiser who ran 28:11. Sophomore Kevin Leroy completed the race in 28:38 minutes followed by freshman Jake Rudd in 29:25 and freshman Michael Gotta in 30:09. A highlight for the men's team came from junior varsity runner and senior Sean Breeden who knocked two minutes off of his time by running 33:41 minutes.

The team will compete in their last meet of the 2009 season at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships on October 31st in Eerie, PA.
