Sign Up! 4th Annual Roggensack 5K Run/3K Walk

STEUBENVILLE—Franciscan University of Steubenville's Homecoming Weekend will be here before we know it, so now is the time to join runners and walkers from across the United States in participating in the fourth annual Roggensack 5K Run and 3K Walk on Saturday, October 8.

The run/walk starts at 8:30 a.m. to begin the day of family activities across campus. The race is held in honor of Kelly Roggensack, a former cross country runner who died in 2008.

More options for participation are available this year. If you are a current student or alumnus of a FUS household, gather your household together to compete for the top female or male household award.

Each household team will need at least three members to run the five kilometer race as a relay. The first two team members will run one mile each while the last member will run 1.1 miles. Up to three members can run each of the first two legs and the fastest runner of each will start the team member in the next leg of the relay. Only one team member can run the last 1.1 mile leg.

The overall top three female and male runners will receive an award and the top female and male runners in each age category will also receive an award. New this year are the 40-55 and 55+ categories. The other age categories are: ages 26-40, 15-25, and under age 15.

Pre-register by September 30, and the first 100 entries receive a free t-shirt.
