STEUBENVILLE – The men's cross country team will be traveling to Angola, NY, to compete in the AMCC Conference Championship on Saturday, October 28.
Freshman Liam Galligan broke out in the season opener, taking third overall at the Fisher Invite and continued to lead the pack throughout the season. Galligan holds the Barons' fastest 8K time and is the only runner from the conference to hold a top 10 time that isn't running for Penn St- Behrend.
Several career bests were posted for the Barons at the Oberlin meet, where Franciscan was the top AMCC team at the meet. Grady Stuckman and Athanasius Sirilla recorded career-best times, Nick Long attained his season's best time. Matthew Crotteau also took off three seconds from his career best at the Oberlin meet.
Over the course of the season, the Barons finished fourth of 16 teams at the National Catholic Championships, their highest team finish in program history, and ninth of 17 teams at the All-Ohio meet. In Oberlin, the team came in eighth overall of 31 teams.
The Championship meet will commence at 12:00 PM.
