Galligan Earns All-Region Honors; Barons Finish 14th Overall

NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Franciscan men's cross country team wrapped up its season at the 2017 Mideast Regional as the Barons took 14th overall out of 51 teams and freshman Liam Galligan earned all-region honors with a 19th-place finish, Saturday morning.

Missing his career-best time by less than two seconds, Galligan earned his first all-region honors of his career with a time of 25:48.3. Galligan was the fastest AMCC runner at the meet, just a week after being named the AMCC Runner of the Year. 

Junior Grady Stuckman took 95th overall and was the second Baron to cross the line with his second-fastest time of the season, coming in at 27:08.7. Following closely behind, freshman Mark Borek posted a time of 27:15.3 for a 104th overall place finish. 

Junior Nick Long was the fourth Baron to cross the finish line as he took 122nd overall with a timeo of 27:31.1 and freshman Athanasius Sirilla posted a career best by 16 seconds with a time of 27:34.8 as he finished 127th overall.

Sophomore Matthew Crotteau came in 211th overall with a time of 28:42.7 and freshman JP Soulliere rounded out the Baron team with a time of 30:48.9 in 288th overall.

The Barons were the top AMCC school at the meet with 467 team points and a 14th overall finish.
