Lady Barons Go 0-2 in Double Header Against Chatham

 STEUBENVILLE, OH - The Franciscan University of Steubenville Lady Barons Softball team lost two home games Tuesday in a double header against Chatham University. The Lady Barons struggled in the both games losing the first 8-0 and showing some offensive promise in the second, 20-7.

The first game was extremely difficult for the Lady Barons, as they only managed to get one hit (Angelle Cupit) en route to an 8-0 defeat. Dunlap and Pais led Chatham in the game with 2 RBIs each.

However, the Lady Barons connected with multiple pitches in the second game, registering 7 runs and 9 total hits. Catcher Katie Quitney led the Lady Barons with 2 hits and 2 RBIs in the game. Lara Plumlee had 1 hit and 2 runs scored, while Krista Bertke, Angelle Cupit, and Nicole Lancour each had 1 hit, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored. Wilson, Greenburg, and Lloyd were the offensive standouts for Chatham in the second game, registering 4 RBIs apiece.

With the loss, the Lady Barons dropped to 0-8 on the season. They have their first conference game of the season on Saturday, a double header at Frostburg State University at 1p.m.
