Jen Parker became Head Coach of Lady Baron softball in the winter of 2012-13 after joining the Franciscan University coaching staff in the fall of 2010 as Assistant Softball Coach to Terry Leighty.
Parker went to Chestnut Hill College where she started at third baseman and served as backup at shortstop and catcher for the softball team and started at guard for the women’s basketball team. She was a member of Phi Beta Lambda and graduated from Chestnut Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics before heading to Franciscan University to earn a master’s degree in education.
Prior to taking over the softball program at Franciscan, Parker served as the strength and conditioning coach for the swim team at Steubenville Catholic Central High School from 1999-2001. In her time as an assistant coach at Franciscan under Terry Leighty, Parker was responsible for coordinating daily practices, travel, strength and conditioning programs, as well as fund raising and communications.
Parker works at Madonna High School as the Director of Advancement where she leads the school’s advancement efforts including development and fund raising, communications and marketing, special events, and alumni relations. Parker also serves on the Advisory Council for the school.
Prior to working for Madonna High School, Parker worked for nearly 14 years at Franciscan University, with 8 years in the Advancement Department and 6 years in Conferences and Events. While at Franciscan she was a member of the Worksite Wellness Committee and she is a certified personal trainer and former yoga instructor.
Originally from Steubenville, Ohio, Parker now resides in Bloomingdale, Ohio, with her husband, Todd, their son Curt, and a menagerie of pets.
