STEUBENVILLE, OH - Franciscan University of Steubenville Lady Barons lost 54-39 to Mt. Aloysius College on Wednesday night. After trailing 28-14 in the first half the Lady Barons could not pull it together during the second half.
Lady Barons' sophomore Angelle Cupit was the leading scorer for the game with twelve points and also came home with eight boards. Mount Aloysius Kaylee Keagy lead her team with ten points and six rebounds.
"We had trouble getting going in the first half, but we were able to rebound and play a good second half," Lady Barons Head Coach Kelly Herrmann said after the game. "We continue to struggle when we're pressured, but that's something we are continuing to work on."
Coach Herrmann cited rebounding and free throws as two of the team's main deficiencies in the loss. "We were really outrebounded in the first half, although we were able to rebound well in the second. We also missed eleven free throws, and it is difficult to be competitive when you can't make those shots."
The Lady Barons next contest is Saturday at one on the road against Penn State Behrend.
