The Lady Barons basketball team faced Notre Dame University of Ohio on Sunday afternoon in their second game of the Wooster College Tournament, losing 84-33. With the loss, the Lady Barons fell to 0-3 (0-0) on the season.
Several Lady Barons posted impressive numbers in the victory. Cara Mitchell led the Lady Barons with 11 points, and was afterward named to the all-tournament team. Caitlin Donovan and Jess Belleque contributed 7 points apiece for the Lady Barons, while Mitchell and Sarah Viancourt had 7 and 6 rebounds, respectively.
"Notre Dame of Ohio is a very good team who will soon be a Division II school," Lady Barons coach Kelly Herrmann remarked post-game. "They are extremely athletic and have a great transition game. We have a long way to go to compete with the teams in that we faced in the Wooster Tournament this week, but we go out and play hard every game no matter how far down we are on the scoreboard."
The Lady Barons' next contest is at home against AMCC opponent Penn State-Behrend this Tuesday at 6 p.m.
