Lady Barons Struggle Against Pitt-Greensburg
Lady Barons Still Struggling
GREENSBURG, PA - The Franciscan University Lady Barons basketball team continues to struggle to find their first win, losing 80-27 to the University of Pitt-Greensburg Lady Bobcats. The Lady Barons are now 0-7 overall and 0-4 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.
Lady Barons senior captain Cara Mitchell (Annandale, VA/Paul VI HS) was able to put up 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 steal. Four Lady Bobcats scored in the double digits with junior Brooke Pioli (Johnstown, PA/Bishop McCort) leading the game with 13 total points.
"We really looked like a team that had just taken their last
finals," Lady Barons coach Kelly Herrmann remarked. "Most of
our girls literally took their last final and then got on the bus
for the game. It was hard for us to keep pace with
Pitt-Greensburg, and they shot extremely well, hitting over fifty
percent on the night. We face an even greater challenge on
Saturday against Medialle, who are undefeated on the season."
The Lady Barons square off at home this Saturday against first place conference opponent Medaille College at 5 p.m.
