Franciscan Lady Barons Win 4 in a Row
STEUBENVILLE, OH. - The Franciscan University of Steubenville Lady Barons celebrated a 2-0 victory over Ursuline College Wednesday, in their fourth win in a row, putting their record for the season at 9-8-1.
Kendra Evangelho led the Lady Barons to the victory, scoring both goals of the game - unassisted. The first goal Evangelho put away with a shot to the top right of the net in the 23rd minute. The second goal Evangelho scored in the 68th minute with a right cross shot.
"The team had energy, desire, and passion on the field today," Evangelho said. "And we want to finish off our last game like that."
The Lady Barons out-shot the competition 20-15, with 8 shots on goal. Goal Keeper Nikki Traylor saved all four of Ursuline shots on goal.
The final game for the Lady Barons 2008 season will be Saturday, home, versus the University of Pittsburgh Bradford at 1 p.m.
