Lady Barons Fall to Bethany

BETHANY, WV - The Lady Barons soccer team of Franciscan University of Steubenville traveled to Bethany College for their third match of the season on Wednesday night.  After leading 1-0 at the half, the Lady Barons let the game slip away in the second period, losing 3-1.  With the loss, the Lady Barons fell to 1-2 on the season.

Regina Recznik led the Lady Barons offensively in the game, registering 3 shots.  Teammate Stacey Lancour scored the Lady Barons' sole goal of the game, while Kelly O'Brien also had a shot.  Goalkeeper Nikki Traylor had 5 saves on the night, while allowing 3 goals.

Loren McAnany led Bethany on the night with 9 shots.  Teammate Cassie Spalding also had a solid performance with 5 shots, 1 goal, and 1 assist.  Goalkeeper Brittany Sadler had 3 saves and one goal allowed.

That Lady Barons' next contest is scheduled for Saturday at St. Vincent College at 11 a.m.
