STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – There was evident improvement in 2011 for Franciscan University’s Lady Baron soccer team, finishing overall with a .500 season record and tallying five shutouts over its opponents. STEUBENVILLE, Ohio—It was Senior Night for the Franciscan University soccer program as the men’s and women’s teams hosted the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. Despite being up 2-1 at the beginning of the second half, the men relinquished their lead in the second half to lose 4-2. Alumni, Varsity Catholic and Soccer Head to Haiti
OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--The not-for-profit organization, Catholic Sports Camps, has just announced its plan to bring a delegation of soccer-oriented Catholic missionaries to the country of Haiti. It plans to do so in the last week of December 2011. This effort, known officially as Catholic Soccer Missions, will coordinate with a Catholic orphanage in rural Haiti. The orphanage was the brainchild of Louis Merosne, a graduate of the Franciscan University of Steubenville.
