Lady Barons Defeated by OSU Marion

STEUBENVILLE, OH - The Lady Barons volleyball team of Franciscan University of Steubenville hosted OSU Marion on Tuesday evening, losing three of their four games, 25-10, 21-25, 23-25, 18-25. With the loss, the Lady Barons dropped to 8-13 (1-6) on the season.

Meg Kay led the Lady Barons on the evening with twelve kills, followed by Ali Aeshliman and Meghan Maccoun with seven apiece. Captains Teresa Marcotte and Paddy Scott had sixteen and nine assists, respectively. Scott also had nineteen digs, while libero Nicole Henson had seventeen and Marcotte had ten. "We played well tonight, but they just played some amazing defense," Lady Barons coach Kelly Herrmann remarked post-game.

"We hit very well, but they just managed to return a ton of our balls. Our defense was unable to play on the level of their defense, and that's what cost us the match tonight. It was a good non-conference match for us, and we're looking forward to Pitt-Greensburg."

The Lady Barons' next contest is tomorrow at Pitt-Greensburg at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Lady Barons will be participating in "Dig Pink" for breast cancer awareness as they host Hilbert College at 1 p.m.
