Cross Country Runs at Bethany Invite

BETHANY, WV – The Franciscan men's and women's cross country teams ran at Bethany, Saturday morning, in rainy conditions.

The Lady Barons finished 12th out of 16 teams while the Barons sent two runners to the meet and did not finish with a team score.

Leading the way for the Lady Barons was junior Kristine Stickney as she took 48th overall with a time of 27:51. Classmate Kara Shaughnessy took 62nd with a time of 29:09 while sophomore Morgan Litterer and freshman Taylor Smtih tied for 64th and 65th place overall with a time of 29:14.

Megan McDerrmott took 75th as she crossed the line at 30:20 and junior Suzie Krass followed soon after with a time of 30:23 in 76th place. Freshman Sydney Lorentz was the final scoring runner for the Lady Barons as she took 80th overall with a time of 30:45.

On the men's side, junior Matthew Crotteau finished 16th overall in the 8k race with a time of 28:37. Freshman Riley Brooks came in 143rd with a time of 38:17.

Franciscan returns to action next Friday as the teams travel to the Nation Catholic Invitational hosted by Notre Dame University.
